Future Architecture of the Network
Future Architecture of the Network, or FAN, is a short-form of the "Architecture of the Future Low-Carbon, Resilient, Electrical Power System" programme which is funded as part of the New Zealand Government’s Strategic Science Investment Fund (SSIF) on Advanced Energy Technology Platform (AETP).
Te Whatunga Hiko
Te Whatunga Hiko is the Māori name given to the Future Architecture of the Network. Whatunga is a term primarily associated with weaving and over time has become a common term associated with ‘network’ in the digital and technology spaces. Combined with Hiko, meaning electric, Te Whatunga Hiko highlights the need the need for us to work together in designing the Future Architecture of the Network in what is an ongoing, and future focussed process. Together, we can weave the individual strands together to form Te Whatunga Hiko, Future Architecture of the Network.
